I look for the best in a subject as I do in myself. The pictures that I take transcend certain ambiguous truths. Their beauty is in the spirit of a moment. As an artist I consider this to be a fairly dysfunctional society. So, I deal with sexuality, which is a part of my personal life, in the most honest way that I know how to.
Process: Form dominates. Subject moves closer to truth and comes to terms with himself. Light and shadow merge and an instant later, a portrait is created. The portraits resonate the spirit of emotion and truth. In a way, aspects about humanity and myself connect there. And this is how I communicate what I see in a picture.
I don’t have a problem if people want to call it pornography or art. The pictures cause reactions. It's supposed to.
Pictures of the male nude and sexuality should be exhibited and liberated mainstream, dialogues between artist and collector must continue to expand with merit about the subject, and censorship to artist works must decline through necessary knowledge.
Despite commercial and fine art nudes being more exposed than ever before, censorship continues, and art for art's sake is still busting out. Our culture immediately responds to sound bites, but the emphasis about who we are has to be found once again through learning about ourselves. We need to virtually step outside of the shadow of whatever is taking our attention, and re-create what is unique about today.
